About Us

Books & Bygones operates from a spacious building in the heart of Central Port Elizabeth. We established ourselves on 12 Lawrence Street just off the well known Russel Road which is an extension of Cape Road, the best known street in the Mandela Bay metropolitan area.

The company was established in 1999 by Danie Immelman, a local expert in art, books, coins, medals, gold, silver and other precious metals. In 2003 the business purchased the 600 square metre building directly opposite the original from where it still trades today.

Books and Bygones will buy anything that has a resale value. You are also welcome to pop in for a free assessment of anything you own or perhaps inherited. We enjoy connecting with collectors of old or collectable artefacts whether money changes or not. When it comes to books & antiques, we speak your language.
